VAN F. BELKNAP grew up
with the Ford family and
other automotive names
at the time. It was his hard
work in 1936 that established Van F. Belknap Co., Inc. as
a leading supplier in the automotive industry.
HANK THORN bought the company in 1971 and streamlined it into what it is today. He brought a work hard ethic of expanding the customer base, and encouraged the staff to do the same, by keeping costs and prices under control while providing a high quality product. His innovation, positive thinking and customer service values have made Belknap a great business partner.
Belknap has maintained its original purpose in designing tools that will withstand the use and abuse of assembly line, maintenance and repair usage. We continue to provide our customers with high quality service and top of the line torque wrenches, adapters and specialized custom designed tooling.
Over the years, we have developed hundreds of Specialty Tools through engineering, prototyping and manufacturing for automotive, heavy equipment, agricultural, petrochemical, aerospace, medical and electronics industries. We do this as part
of the service that has made Belknap a valued supplier to large and small companies.
While the quality of our designs and products are well known, the professional service after the sale has long been a Belknap trademark, including unmatched, knowl-edgeable and courteous customer service, as well as expedited production lead times.
Our in-house machine shop is dedicated for “special” jobs for our customers. That is why our response time matches today’s quick turnaround demand. The engineers in our Research and Development Department are constantly working with the latest technology available to develop new ideas to introduce to industry more advanced tooling.
Our fully equipped Calibration Lab performs life cycle tests on our products because we want to know their total capabilities. Quality Control is not just another term for us, it demands performance from the end product.
Our Repair Department is a full service department. We can repair, service and calibrate most any make of torque wrench. Certifications of Accuracy, traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), are furnished with each repaired torque wrench.
Our customers recognize the quality of our products all over the world and while they may never need the tooling life our tools are capable of, it is still there, just in case they do! The reputation and trust we have developed over the years is important to Belknap and we intend to keep it that way.
