  Design And Function:

This calibration manager software was written with two goals in mind: to manage torque wrench calibration data and to remind you or someone else (via e-mail) in a timely manner when to perform the calibrations.

  Creating An Account:

To create an account, click on "Sign-Up" under the login box in the upper-right corner of the web site, or click here. You will be taken to the Torque Wrench Calibration Manager account manager, where you can create a new account, login, or recover your password. For new accounts, enter your e-mail address and a password (6 chars minimum) and click on "Create My Account". A verification e-mail message will be sent to you asking you to click on a link to verify that you received it. You will not be able to use your account until you verify it.

  Logging In And Out:

After signing up and verifying your e-mail address, you may log into the Torque Wrench Calibration Manager. The login box is located in the upper-right corner of every page on our web site.

This software uses an automatic logout feature which will automatically log you out after five minutes of inactive time. After logging in, a toolbar will be placed at the top of every page on our web site with a link back to the Calibration Manager, a logout button, and a countdown timer for the automatic logout. You can Click on any link on the web site or refresh the current page to reset the timer.

  Calibration Data Fields:

Model and/or Description: (not required) You can use this field to store the make and model number of your wrench (100 characters max).
Serial or Wrench Number: (not required) Use this field to further identify your wrench if you have more than one of the same model (50 characters max).
Last Calibration Date: (required) The date that the wrench was last calibrated.
Calibration Period: (required) The number of days between each calibration of the wrench. This should depend on how often you use the wrench (some assembly-line wrenches are calibrated daily).
Calibration Due Date: (read only) This date is calculated by the system by adding the Calibration Period to the Last Calibration Date.
Enable Notify: Checking this box allows the Torque Manager to send an e-mail to the Notification E-mail Address on the Notification Date and the Calibration Due Date. Un-checking this box turns notification off.
Notification Period: (required to send e-mail) The number of days prior to the Calibration Due Date in which the Notification E-mail will be sent.
Notification Date: (read only) This date is calculated by the system by subtracting the Notification Period from the Next Calibration Date.
Notification E-mail Address: (required to send e-mail) The e-mail address where the calibration notifications will be sent to for the current wrench record (100 characters max). This software was designed to store a separate e-mail address for each wrench in case you need to send the Calibration Notifications to other people.
Location of Wrench / Notes: (not required) Use this field for any other data you wish to track. This information also gets sent with the notification reminder email (255 characters max).

  Summary View:

The Summary View is the first page displayed when you log in to the system. The Summary View displays a single line of data for each wrench in order by Calibration Due Date. The only data displayed is the Model and Serial number and the calibration status (number of days until/past calibration). Each line of data is color coded as follows:

RED: The date exceeds the Wrench Calibration Due Date.
YELLOW: The date is between the Notification and Calibration Due Dates.
GREEN: The date is before the Notification and Calibration Due Dates.

You can edit a wrench by clicking on the Model number. Below the Summary View is a form to add more wrenches to the calibration manager.

  Detailed View:

The Detailed View displays all of the data for each wrench, including the Notification and Calibration Due Dates. You can edit a wrench by clicking on the Model Number or Edit Button, or Delete a wrench (permanently) by clicking on the Remove Button.

Just like the Summary View, each wrench record is ordered by the Calibration Due Date and color coded as follows:

RED: The date exceeds the Wrench Calibration Due Date.
YELLOW: The date is between the Notification and Calibration Due Dates.
GREEN: The date is before the Notification and Calibration Due Dates.

  Adding A Wrench:

You can add a wrench to the system by filling out the form at the bottom of the Summary View or Detailed View page. The only required fields are the Last Calibration Date, the Calibration Period and the Notification Period.

  Editting A Wrench:

You can edit a wrench by clicking on the Model/Description in the Summary View, or by clicking on the Model/Description field or the Edit Button in the Detailed View. When you edit a wrench, the Notification Sent flag is reset automatically, allowing a new Calibration Reminder E-mail to be sent when necessary.

  Removing A Wrench:

You can only remove a wrench in the Detailed View by clicking on the Remove Button. The wrench is removed from the database entirely and this action cannot be undone.

  Calibration Reminder E-mails:

Calibration Reminder E-mails are sent only on the Notification Date and on the Calibration Due Date, unless you make a change to the wrench data which puts the Notification Date in the past, in which the system will send an e-mail the very next morning after the edit was made. E-mails are generated and sent by the system every morning at 1:00 AM EST.

You can have a different e-mail destination for each wrench managed so that the system can directly notify the person responsible for calibrating the wrench.

  Changing E-mail / Password:

You may change your E-mail Address and Password at any time by clicking on Settings when logged into the Torque Wrench Calibration Manager. Passwords must be at least six characters long. When changing your E-mail address, you have the option to change all of your existing wrench notification e-mail addresses to your new address (default setting), or leave them set up with their existing e-mail addresses.

  Deleting Your Account:

You may delete your account at any time when logged into the Torque Wrench Calibration Manager. Click on Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on "Delete My Account". All of your wrench data is also deleted from the database and this action cannot be undone.
